With 17 weeks to go to the big day we currently have over 120 locations, almost 80 confirmed and around 50 in the pending stage. Behind the scenes we are making a lot of progress with organizing the content, arranging catering and other sponsorship partnerships.
My Location is Pending
If your location is still in the pending state you should start to think about registering an event so users can sign up to attend. After the New Year would be a great time to go out with registration as many potential attendees will be planning their schedule for 2018, and it would be great if they could register for an event and mark Saturday 21st April in their calendars.
There are more details about registration in the FAQ on the Global Azure Bootcamp site.
You will be pleased to know that we have secured a sponsorship deal for event catering through the good folks at Microsoft. We are still finalizing the details with this and will go out with more information early in the year. Events from 10 to 150 attendees will be able to sign up for catering through Subway in most locations. To qualify for catering Microsoft just asks that you share a link with your attendees to a simple survey of what they thought of the event (no personal information will be collected).
Cosmos DB Train the Trainer Sessions
Cosmos DB has evolved substantially in the past year and will be on interest to many of the attendees. The Cosmos DB team has kindly volunteered to provide Train the Trainer sessions over Skype to any event organizers or presenters that would like to include coverage of Cosmos DB in their events. The Skype sessions will be 60 minutes long, with around 45 minutes of presentation and 15 minutes of Q and A.
Depending on the interest we can arrange for one or more train the trainer sessions, hopefully at convenient time slots.
In order to gauge the interest in these sessions, please fill in the survey:
The range of technologies and services available in Azure has grown vastly since we started running the boot camps six years ago. Many technologies are new and emerging and were simply not around a year or so ago. There is a good chance that some of the attendees will have their own ideas about what they would like to explore during the event.
For this reason we would like to point out more resources available and provide links to Microsoft learning paths where developers can explore many of the Azure services available.
